Chelsea FC Players Review - Vital Chelsea

Chelsea - A look at the players.

They are off to China. A nice phrase to write and people estimate that Chelsea have some 60 million supporters in the countries visited on this far eastern tour. A figure that seem strange to write, which some of them will show up here. But considering the number of Indian-Pakistan friends we have here at the site, it might be indicative.Wednesday they play the first game on the tour. The entire squad will be there with the exception of Didier Drogba, whose knee problem keeps him at Cobham and probably has made him unsellable for his hard-working agent. In a way better news for Chelsea, though the news that he still have knee problems can hardly be said being good news. Even the newly-wed Michael Ballack that had Elton John sing him a specially written song at the reception will join.I have taken myself the liberty of taking my very own evalaution of our squad, just to help Big Felipe. No apparent order. If he should care. It might be an idea for you too to send in your evaluation for Merlin to publish.Could be absent when the season start (not saying I want any of the them to be).

Henrique Hilario. Has been a very good third choice goalkeeper and has played more than anyone wished. Still, it is time to give the spot to Rhys Taylor from the youths.

Paulo Ferreira. Mrs Merlin will hate me for ever, but loyal and very nice Paulo is of all in the defence the most surplus in my eyes, despite being an international for Portugal as LB.

Juliano Belletti. Great shot, great corners, good crosses. Defensively a bit unstable, can not match José Bosingwa`s speed or offensive qualities.

Shaun Wright-Phillips. Most of us do recognise that the dimunitive winger has reached his potential at Chelsea. Personally I love his fighting spirit and heart, but I think he has reached as far as he can, not the least considering that he was better last season when played out of position than in position.

Frank Lampard. Chelsea legend, that might try his hand another place or press himself to the agent`s dream, a megahuge contract. Be a man Frank, do what you want - just do it. Sign or try a dream to play abroad.

Claudio Pizarro. Good looking horse owner. Left with Santa Cruz, and was very much overshadowed by the Blackburn striker. One of the main surplus players as I see it.

Nicolas Anelka. The only one that looked terrified of playing in the CL-final. Has a lot of support, but not mine. His supporters claim he has been played out of position, I claim that one still has to show at least determination and will.

Andrij Shevchenko. The best in the world twice. Mainly lost here. But he has always worked hard and tried when he has gotten his chances, more under JM than under Average. Also always played out of position and still managed to score a decent number of goals.

Tal Ben Haim. The most enigmatic transfer we ever done. I still can not for my life understand what and why JM wanted him in the squad. A lumbering Huth-copy but without Robert`s great shot and aerial prowess.

Khalid Boulahrouz. Had a very good Euro, but failed at Sevilla on loan. A hero when he reduced Ronaldinho to dinho at the Bridge, but too often missed his timing and his pace is simply not enough for the PL.

Steve Sidwell. Has already left for a club much better suited for him.

Claude Makelele. Might leave for a final stint in a league he has not played for most of his career. Want him to stay, but will not object if he wants to leave.

Florent Malouda. I admired him in France. Never came close in England. He has it in him, will he get it out under Big Fil? Looks a bit complacent which hurts his rep.

Carlo Cudicini. We love him to death, but he deserves to be first choice and if he get it and wants to leave, same as Makelele.

Alcides. Don`think he will get a work-permit, hence probably off to PSV again.

Comment. Any of these could leave, I hope most of them stay but it necessary some of them try their luck elsewhere as the squad has to be decimated. Most of them can be replaced, except Frank and Claude maybe. Some might turn around their career again under Scolari, main hope is Sheva. In the process.

Future Talents Of Chelsea Team

John Obi Mikel Has emerged as the Maka2, but honestly that is not his best position. He is more of a two-way player.Branislav Ivanovic. We know nothing yet. Except that Ranieri really wanted him to go to Juve.

Alex. I have total faith. Had he had more speed he would already be world class.

Scott Sinclair. If he can not keep his spot in the England U-19, maybe he already have peaked? Another Jon Harley? Please prove me wrong.

Franco Di Santo. Expect him to start some games and come off the bench a couple of more this season. Exciting big player that can be a good target player and aerial player.

Salomon Kalou. I like him a lot. He has come along nicely, not in great leaps but steadily. Our best assist player last season. Works hard and has imagination. Needs a bit more muscle I think.

Untouchables

(Frank Lampard. If he wants to.)

Petr Cech. Still one of the very best 3 in the world. Which is remarkable after what Hunt did to him. Has to still be regarded as healing.

Joe Cole. Simply because we all love you. Most Chelsea fan of the players.

Ricardo Carvalho. I do not regard him as much as most here. But he is the best attacking defender centrally. Has great pace and fits very well with both JT and Alex. Very adaptable.

Ashley Cole. Best English LB and on his way back to become one of the best overall.Wayne Bridge. Almost as good, with better crosses. Not as pacey as Cole.

Michael Essien. The most versatile player in the world. A superstar already and should have been appointed Player of the Year in Africa.

Michael Ballack. Better day for day as he learned how to assert himself in the team.

John Terry. Well, enough said.

Didier Drogba. Best target player in the world. His knee worries me, a tricky injury at his age.

Not to be judged

José Bosingwa and Deco. They are new additions and should be great compliments to the team, each bringing great talent and skill to the squad.

Chelsea Latest News

Essien agrees stunning £20M Chelsea contract A source close to Essien said: "Michael is delighted with the new deal. "It's true that as soon as Jose Mourinho took over at Inter he made it clear he wanted Michael in Milan. But a new deal had almost already been agreed with Chelsea." Securing him to 2013 in a deal worth £80,000 a week.

Great that Essien is Staying at Chelsea if he play alongside with Kaka in Midfield Chelsea can dominate any midfield in the world.

Petr Cech has been secured to a new five-year contract at Chelsea. The Blues made the announcement this morning and Cech told the club's website: "It is an honour to be at a club like Chelsea and I am very happy to have renewed my contract with them. Chelsea has grown in my heart, not just because of my team mates and all the people that work for the club but also because of their fantastic fans.
"I gave my first interview when I arrived at Chelsea in 2004 and I had said that it had been my dream to play for one of the best clubs in the world and in the best league in the world - this came true and I am very pleased my dream will last. "Personally I have to say I cannot wait for the new season to start. I am confident that it will be a very successful season for all of us."

Securing the best midfielder in the world and best goalkeeper in the world to a new deal is nothing but a smart move.

Deal for Robinho, Kaka, Villa and Eto ?

Chelsea target Kaka unsure of AC Milan stay

Kaka admits he's unsure of his future at AC Milan.
The Brazilian star has been the subject of a bid from Chelsea, which was confirmed by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani yesterday. "When I return to Italy I will know what's going to happen, but at the moment nothing is certain," said Kaka. "There are two teams who are very interested in signing me, but now I do not want to talk about it. "Until we return to Milan and know how things are, we cannot decide what happens with my future."

Robinho issues Real ultimatum - Sky Sports
Brazilian open to Chelsea switch

In the wake of mounting speculation, Robinho has told Real Madrid that he wishes to leave the club.
The Brazil international has been strongly linked with a summer switch to Chelsea and is thought to have told Real's sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, that he wishes to join the Blues.
The playmaker is understood to have held discussions with Mijatovic last week, during which he revealed his desire to depart the Santiago Bernabeu.
"I have the desire to leave Real Madrid," he told Marca.
Valuation
His agent, Wagner Ribeiro, is reported to have already entered into negotiations with Chelsea in regards to a transfer to Stamford Bridge, although Robinho is yet to meet with Blues officials.
There are also rumours emanating out of Spain that Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has made contact with Real stipulating the club's willingness to open discussions over a possible deal.
The Primera Liga champions are thought to want around 40million euros (£31.7m) for the 24-year-old, but there are no indications as yet as to how much Chelsea are willing to pay for his services.

Will one of them eventually come to Chelsea ? I will be delighted if any of them come to Chelsea all 4 of them are top quality players.

Transfer Out Makelele(PSG), Sidwell(Aston Villa), Boulahrouz(Stuggart) and Crespo(Inter Milan)

"Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Claude for the service he has given us," said a club statement."Claude has been a key part of our trophy success and we wish him well for the future."He will always be welcomed back to Stamford Bridge in the future either as a player or friend of the club."

Thanks Makelele for his major contribution and also Crespo for his vital league title winning 2nd season and Thanks Sidwell for being hardworking and professional during his period of time at Chelsea. And Boula for totally locking out Ronaldinho in the first league group stage Champions League tie.

Truth behind Drogba being left out for pre-season tour

He has an recurrence of the knee injury that has troubled him last season thus he had to stay behind for treatment.

Rumours Transfer Out

Shevchenko to AC Milan or Fenerbahce or Sampdoria

Lampard to Inter Milan

Drogba to Inter Milan Or AC Milan Or Barcelona Or Real Madrid

Pizarro to PSG

Malouda to Roma

Wright-Phillips to Portsmouth

Belletti to Benfica

Boulahrouz to Stuggart

We All Want Frank To Stay - The Sun

JOHN TERRY is confident Frank Lampard's future will be sorted during Chelsea's pre-season tour of China.
Lampard is currently torn between a new contract offer from the Blues and a move to be reunited with Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.
But Blues skipper Terry remains hopeful the midfielder will decide to stay at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "The players and fans all want Frank to stay.
"We are here to focus on football but hopefully while he's here the club can sort it out.
"It's down to Frank and the club."
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insists Lampard will definitely start the season with the Londoners.
He only has 12 months remaining on his current deal but Kenyon does not believe the speculation will affect the England international's commitment.
He said: "It's an important statement that Frank is on tour with us.
"We have always said we want him to stay and we are confident he will.
"He is here and is training exceptionally hard for us. He is a big professional and we accept he is a key member of the team.
"No one is stalling over this, Frank is not stalling and we are not stalling."

Lampard and Drogba must stay ! for the case of Pizzaro and Boulahrouz I don't mind that they leave as Pizzaro is not a quality player and The Cannibal is too aggressive always getting red card and poor positioning sense and not good at supporting attack even though he did totally lock out Ronaldinho in a Champions league first game at Stamford Bridge.Malouda, SWP and Belletti I think Malouda should stay he is quite a stable and reliable winger that score goals from time to time and Belletti should stay too he always pop up with goals and I rather him to be at Right-back then unreliable Paulo Ferreria.SWP should leave if there is a good offer for him.
