Chelsea Camp - Carvalho: Chelsea have silenced doubters
Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho claims the Blues have proved the critics wrong and can sample success on four fronts this season. The Africa Cup of Nations has denied Chelsea of the services of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel over recent weeks, while John Terry and Frank Lampard have also been absent through injury.
However, Chelsea have not suffered defeat since losing 1-0 to Arsenal on 16th December and the Blues could yet record successes in the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and Carling Cup. "We have not slipped up even though everyone expected us to fail because of injuries and the Africa Cup of Nations," Carvalho told the Daily Express.
"But we've not missed a single chance in the competitions. It is a big time for us. "We knew January was always going to be important but we have shown our determination by coming through it. "We have come through complicated situations in the past because of injuries and we can do it again."
Liverpool Camp - Benitez insists Liverpool can claim fourth spot
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez insists his much-maligned squad has the experience to claim fourth spot in the Premier League.Benitez said: 'I think we are the best equipped to be fourth, at least. Martin O'Neill at Villa and Sven (Goran Eriksson) at City may say different and Everton too, but I have confidence in my team.
'We feel we can do it and we must start winning again, that will take us higher again.
'We have enough quality and the experience of playing at this level. That could be crucial because we have been here before. 'The key is to focus on every game and not think about the rest.
